| Nonprofit Web Site Sample: Attack On Asthma | ||
AttackOnAsthma.org is a special case. Across the United States, many children die of asthma attacks in schools. Attack On Asthma Nebraska has been able to provide and activate by law a life saving protocol for use with life-threatening asthma and Anaphylaxis attacks in schools. One in thirteen students have these difficulties. No other state has been able to do this and the Web site has been an important part of the effort.
OnWebManager can accomodate unique home pages. The home page for Attack On Asthma Nebraska needed to have high emotional impact. The color red is chosen for danger; the face of a child is faint in the background; the background and emergency protocol are at the top of the list of bullet points.
A unique Web page like this cannot be edited within OnWebManger because it is created manually by a Web designer. It is attached to OnWebManger, and the rest of the sight is easily edited by staff through the normal means.
The Web site is aimed at schools and parents, so it has 18 download files covering aspects of the problem. It also has a donate area for parents and other concerned adults to help with costs. The Web site highlights links to the law, the state board of education and the Nebraska Department of Education.
One of the most important recent changes involves encouraging school staff and parents to sign up for the E-News. This way, each month, they automatically receive links to the latest information on progress, work on the life-saving protocol, and calls to action. The E-News is important to their ongoing effort.
