2010 Fall Education for All Ages

Sunday School for Children -- Sunday mornings at 9

Our kids' curriculum this year is drawn from the excellent Spark Lectionary Curriculum from Augsburg Fortress. It is written so that "...kids will open their Bibles in every lesson…Bible-centered, it encourages kids to…explore God's Word through a variety of age-appropriate activities designed to accommodate all of the different ways children learn.” [Quotations from web site below.]

Confirmation (Grades 6, 7, and others as appropriate) -- Sunday mornings at 9

Our Youth Ministry is still in transition, however, for the present, kids and youth in grades 6, 7, and beyond (depending on their Confirmation experience) will meet for Confirmation on Sunday mornings during the Education hour. They too will be encountering God’s story through re:form  – a new curriculum that "engages the questions kids are really asking” like "Who wrote the Bible, anyway?”

Adult Forums — Sunday mornings at 9

The theme for our Adult Forums this year is Encounters with God's Story.  We will look at the Bible and examine how God's story and our own personal stories intersect.

  • September 12, Storytelling, led by LaRue Unglaube
  • September 19, stories from Cherish Our Children, led by Amy Hartman
  • September 26 - October 10, Various Faith Traditions—how they engage the stories of their sacred scripture
  • October 17 - November 7, our own "Money Stories,” led by John Rehl and Mike Troutman
  • November 14 – 21, two Bible Stories; how God is speaking to each of us today
  • Advent through Christmas, the Story of the Incarnation
